Respectful building between Truex and Logano

Two by Martin Truex Jr. Three winners this season have come after a hard battle with the driver who had him fuming at the end of the 2018 season.

Truex has now passed Joey Logano in Richmond and Charlotte Motor Speedway. In Richmond, Truex broke through for the first time this season, and talked afterwards about being respected by Logano. Sunday night he won his second Coca-Cola 600 after holding off Logano before the race's final caution flew on Lap 392 and then when the race started again and they drove back to the two top five rounds to go.

"I think he's a tough competitor, a guy that's hard to beat," Truex said. by Logano. "He's always up front. So yes, he's a great driver, and he and his team are doing a great job of being in a position to win races. It's the kind of guys you like to beat, so it feels good to win against him. "

Asked if he and Truex fought each other hard, but still, Logano replied:" Yes, of course. Do we not every time? "

Truex did not believe it this fall when Logano moved him on the last round in Martinsville for the win. Then Logano made his place in the title race, while Truex felt he had not been as clean as he had treated Logano when he attempted to take the lead from him for several rounds in advance.

On the last reboot in Charlotte, it was Truex third and Logano sixth. Truex made it four wide on the back between David Ragan, Kyle Busch and Ryan Newman, finally coming in and then clearing Ragan off Turn 4. But he came with Logano, who had such a run on Truex that he got into his back bumper and pushed No. 19 Toyota down the front stretch.

"I didn't know the rear tires on the ground, I'm telling you so much," Truex said about restarting. "Just try to keep it straight and don't let him get into the (Turn) 1, so that's a bit of what I was trying to do."

During the next rounds Truex ran for the win. 19659002] "Man, what a race," he said. "Up and down you never know what can happen in these things, and we were so good early, blew it covered, hit the fence, and I'm like, we're done. How are we going to fix that year? I didn't know how bad It was. But the guys worked hard, fixed it up. "
