TRON founder Justin Sun has been the border control of the Chinese government and effectively nodded the much-anticipated lunch with Warren Buffett, per Chinese news site Caixin.
Sun was indicted by a Special Committee on Internet Security appointed by the State Council for his alleged involvement with money laundering, illegal collection, pornography dissemination and gambling. The Special Committee proposes that relevant law enforcement agencies arrest Sun.
The Sun-Buffett lunch was scheduled for July 25 in San Francisco. On July 23, however, Sun dropped out on the Chinese website Weibo that he canceled lunch because of health problems. The last time Sun appeared outside China was July 1
Sun announced that he won the bid for lunch with Wall Street giant Warren Buffett for great fanfare. After abolishing 4.57 million dollars for the ability to bend the Oracle of Omaha's ear, Sun promoted the event several times on both Twitter and Weibo, suggesting he might change Buffet's opinion on cryptocurrencies.
In addition to founding TRON and acting as CEO of BitTorrent, Sun also owned another firm named Peiwo (based in Guangzhou), which was recently dissolved, according to China's national corporate registration site. Meanwhile, Peiwo mobile application was publicly accused of China's national media sales Xinhua for spreading pornographic content and offering escort services.
