Day 15 of strike: Progress slows because of how GM, UAW negotiations are conducted, sources say

DETROIT (WXYZ) – We are learning new information tonight about the contract talks between General Motors and United Auto Workers union. According to sources familiar with the talks at GM's headquarters, a question that slows the progress of the talks is HOW they are led.

The union wants all their participating dealers and employees to be in one room at the main table. GM, on the other hand, wants to resolve issues in smaller groups or committees.

The sources say this affects the progress of contractual issues.

This is the third week of the strike, day 15.

Negotiations are closed Monday evening, but will continue in the morning.
