Postal worker refuses to deliver mail to the man's home and thinks his Halloween decorations are offensive
A New York postal worker has refused to deliver mail to a man after he posted Halloween decorations he deemed offensive. The postal worker, who is African American, took offense at a skeleton hanging by a bus near Richard Beatty's front door, WCBS reported. "It's not meant to be racist. It's not meant to offend anyone," Beatty told the TV station. "It's here to be scary." Beatty now gets her mail delivered from a supplementary postal provider and has refused to take down her holiday decorations, despite the postmaster's request. "I don't think the post office, for all people, should be the ones who tell me what I can and can't do on my own property," Beatty said. Watch the video above to learn more about this story.
