Popeyes mocks Chick-fil-A & # 39; s National Sandwich Day blunder
Chick-fil-A sent subscribers an email earlier this week to promote National Sandwich Day on November 3. The only problem: November 3rd falls on a Sunday – a day when all Chick-fil-A locations across the US are closed.
"Call all sandwich lovers," it says in the email. "Some prefer it grilled, others like the original. Whatever Chick-fil-A sandwich you love, order your November 3 for National Sandwich Day."
The company was quickly able to acknowledge the error and sent another email apologizing.
"We recently sent an email that included a message about National Sandwich Day, which we were naturally very excited about. We did not know it will fall on Sunday when we are closed. We apologize for the confusion and hope to see you soon (Monday-Saturday), ”the email read.
Chick-fil-A poked fun at its own fault.
"Cows sometimes get anxious about their quest for self-preservation," Chick-fil-A said in the statement. "They have been reminded that Sundays are off-limits."
