Popeyes is & # 39; sold out & # 39; of chicken sandwiches
We "ate them all."
By the end of this week, there will be no more Popeyes chicken sandwiches – with the company announcing Tuesday that it had gone through the inventory.
"We sold out," Popeye's said in a video posted on his Twitter page.
But don't worry, fried chicken fans.
The fast food chain plans to have the beloved sandwich back in places anywhere in the near future, it just isn't safe when yet.
"We are so grateful," said Popeyes, who launched $ 3.99 on August 1[ads1]2.
"You ate them all. (Quite proud of you), the company added." They'll be back soon. To. Good. Pinky swears. ”
People have been flocking to their nearest Popeyes in recent weeks to try the new menu item after a Twitter feud between it and Chick-fil-A triggered over who had the best sandwich.
Popeyes had "aggressively predicted demand through late September," but was already sold through inventory at the beginning of this week, a spokesman said.
"As a result, Popeyes restaurants across the country are expected to sell out of Chicken Sandwich by the end of the week," Rep. Brooke Scher Mogan said in a statement Tuesday. "We, together with our suppliers, are working tirelessly to bring the new sandwich back to the guests as soon as possible. "
Popeyes has referred people to their app for more information on when the sandwich will return.
