Dezeen, an architecture and design site, works to honor the craft of building through the Dezeen Awards, an annual celebration of architecture.

Dezeen released the shortlist of nominees for the September competition, and narrowed the entries to the best of the best with an international panel of experts in architecture and design.

The Architecture category contains 10 subcategories, and the shortlist has a total of 53 nominees. Dezeen highlights everything from small houses to massive events on the shortlist, and demonstrates the different ways people interact with the buildings around them around the globe.
