Pfizer increases the cost of 41 medications in January

The prices of any of your medicines are about to go up.
Pfizer said on Friday that it will raise prices for 41 drugs, or 10 percent of the product portfolio, in January.
The drug giant stated in a release that the increase for most of the drugs affected would be 5 percent, although three products would see a 3 percent increase and 9 percent would climb because of "for the implementation of two comprehensive development programs which has led to the recently approved FDA approvals for two new medical applications that satisfy unmet patient needs. "
Found by the US Today, a Pfizer spokesman would not mention drugs that would be priced higher. The increase will come into force on January 15, 2019.
There is some history here. Pfizer announced price increases at the beginning of July, but supported, at least for a while, after President Donald Trump tweeted that "Pfizer and others should be ashamed that they have raised drug prices for no reason." Pfizer said it expects list prices "to be compensated by higher discounts and discounts paid to Insurance Companies and Pharmacy Benefit Managers "and said the net commission on the company's revenue growth in the United States in 2019 is expected to be zero.
"We believe that the best ways to deal with affordable drug prices are to reduce the rising costs that consumers face due to high deductions and co-insurance, and ensure that patients receive a discount on the pharmacy counter," says Pfizer, Chairman of the Board. and CEO Ian Read in a statement.
"Drug companies that increase their prices and compensate them with higher discounts are for the benefit of all but the consumer, who routinely pays off his wallet based on list price" Caitlin Oakley, a department for health and human services spokesman, wrote in a statement to the united states today.
