Pfizer Booster Shots are effective against the Omicron variant, says Israeli study

TEL AVIV — A booster shot of Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech SE’s Covid-19 vaccine provides good protection against serious illness from the Omicron variant, while without a third shot they are very vulnerable, according to a new Israeli study.

The findings, similar to those announced last week by Pfizer, suggest that countries concerned about the rapid spread of Omicron will be able to defend its population with continued inoculation.
