Payless closes its shoe stores, according to several media reports, including one from CNN that says the dealer closes all 2,100 of its stores in the US and Puerto Rico.
Liquidation sales begin Sunday and stores will begin closing in March, but most will remain open until May according to the CNN report.
Payless runs a store at Capital Mall in West Olympia, according to the company's website, and one at Shopko in Lacey. The Shopko store already announced that it is closing.
There is also a shop at Sleater-Kinney Road Southeast, next to Fred Meyer. The location is closed because a car turned around on January 31, according to Lacey Fire District 3.

The incident was reported at 1:15 An employee in the store was not injured and the driver was treated and released on the spot.
The driver had the Pontiac sedan on the back and is supposed to have pushed the accelerator pedal instead of the brake, a Lacey fire officer said.
A sign attached to the window at that location says the business is closed until at least 25 February.
