CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. "Passengers on a Carnival Cruise started panic after a fine stabilizer caused the ship to be temporarily tipped last week.
WKMG reported that the ship tipped for several hours after leaving Port Canaveral last sunday night.
"Plates and silverware began to slip off the tables," said guest David Crews, on Long Island. "Then the tables began to slide. Glasses and plates began to fall and crush." At this point, it was pure chaos. "Scream Cries. Panic."
The ship continued its week-long Caribbean cruise after leveling back to normal. Pictures show some guests in life jackets for the rest of the night to be safe.
Carnival Cruise Line released the following statement:
On Sunday evening, Carnival Sunshine experienced a technical issue that led to the ship being listed. There was never any problem with the safe operation of the ship, and our officers seized quickly to correct the situation.
After the event resumed the evening events for our guests. Carnival Sunshine continued on his Caribbean cruise as planned. We apologize for the inconvenience this caused.
