Passengers Hospitalized by United 737-800 From Baltimore Moving to Washington Dulles
A United flight from Baltimore diverted to Washington Dulles after passengers and crew were sick of harmful smoke.
The smell of smoke was present at boarding just aggravated when the plane took off. Passengers complained of nausea, headache, chest pain and secret breathing.
United 1675, operated by a 737-800, was tied to San Francisco, but only made it 45 miles across southern Maryland and the District of Columbia to Dulles North Virginia Airport.
Fire trucks and paramedics met the plane. Seven passengers were taken to hospital and carefully examined. Everything but one is now released. United voluntarily volunteer to cover any hospital or related medical expenses.
A Twitter user, BarredinDC lived tweeted about the incident:

In an e- post statement, United said:
United 1675 from Baltimore-Washington to San Francisco derived from Washington Dulles because a strong smell in the cabin. The plane landed safely and taxied to a gate. Customers were immediately scheduled and evaluated by medical personnel. Several customers were transported to local hospitals. Customers will be rebooked on flights to San Francisco from Washington-Dulles.
Fly 1675 was originally scheduled to continue on to San Francisco, but was later canceled. Passengers were re-accommodated on other flights to their final destination.
CONCLUSION
Meeting a gas chamber on board is a plane a terrible nightmare. I am grateful that the plane could land quickly and all the passengers seem ok.
