Other federal agencies to investigate deadly Florida Tesla crash
DETROIT (AP) – Another federal agency sends shippers to a deadly crash involving a Tesla electric car that drove under a semi-trailer crossing a Florida road.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said on Saturday it is sending a team to the crash that killed the 50-year-old Jeremy Beren Banner on Friday.
Crash in Delray Beach is honestly similar to another involving a Tesla in 2016 near Gainesville, Florida.
The National Transport Security Board sent a three-person team to the crash. The traffic safety administration can provide fines and seek recalls. NTSB provides recommendations for preventing crashes.
Both authorities will probably look at whether the Tesla's Autopilot semi-autonomous drive system was used on Banner's Tesla Model 3 at that time.
