Oil: Oil helps European stocks to rise while tobacco goes up in smoke

The pan-European STOXX 600 gained 0.2 percent at 0826 GMT, having finished last week in red with feelings that were still shaken.

Oil stocks jumped 1.8 percent after more than 1.5 percent jumped in raw prices after top exporter Saudi Arabia's announcement of a supply cut in December with other manufacturers who also considered reductions to 2019.

The basic fund stock also rose 1.8 percent in a strong upswing in the business cycle.

Tobacco supply stole the spotlight.

Financial software provider Simcorp was the top STOXX faller, down 10 percent after the results after Friday's trip showed a decline in earnings.

The airline Zuerich shares fell 8 percent after the company said that airline revenues could be affected if proposals from the Federal Office of Civil Aviation to cut transfers were passed.
