New Haven line service restored in NY
NEW HAVEN – Metro-North says service has resumed on the New Haven line after trains were stopped in New York to allow transit crews to make “urgent road repairs.”
The commuter train said the Saturday schedule is expected to resume around 4 p.m
Earlier this morning, Metro-North had urged customers traveling in and out of New York City to seek alternative transportation after crews in the Bronx were forced to make impromptu repairs across tracks on the Harlem and New Haven lines.
Service on both lines was partially suspended for approx. 10 hours during the repair. According to Metro-North, trains did not run for the New Haven line between Grand Central and Mount Vernon East, a distance of two stops.
