MoviePass pauses the service to work on its app
Hello! Due to maintenance issues, MoviePass services have been temporarily held. Once we have solved these technical issues, the service will stay again. We estimate that this process will take several weeks. We appreciate your patience.

MoviePass says it will credit customers for the number of days the service is down and no new subscribers will be registered. "It's never a good time to have to do this," said CEO Mitch Lowe. "But in order to complete the enhanced version of our app, one that we believe will provide a much better experience for our subscribers, it must be done."
Ticket subscription services are obviously a challenge to run. This spring MoviePass competitor Sinemia turned off shortly after customers said their accounts were incorrectly terminated. MoviePass has experimented with new plans, offering its original $ 9.95 unlimited plan, free movie tickets in exchange for viewing ads and more. It is difficult to say whether the benefits of improving the app will outweigh the headaches to interfere with the service.
