MoviePass offers its original $ 9.95 unlimited plan for a limited period
The program file is not limited to 2D movies and, as previously, movie selections may be limited due to high demand. Those who prefer a monthly plan can now pay $ 14.95 for an unlimited MoviePass plan, down from the usual $ 19.95 a month. A MoviePass representative told Engadget that the company does not have an end date for when the limited campaign will be over.
MoviePass has changed its pricing model more than a few times since the end of 201[ads1]7, much to the subscribers' chagrin. The company's $ 9.95 a month plan turned out to be very popular, but almost went bankrupt. After MoviePass increased the price of its unlimited plan to $ 14.95 back in August and released major releases for two weeks, customers began canceling their droves subscriptions.
Surge pricing for popular movies just caused more setbacks. A three-tiered subscription model that ranged from $ 10 to $ 20 a month just debuted in January. Easily the most complex plan yet, three-tier plan limited movie choices based on geography and popularity. But MoviePass customers on most floor plans ended up losing out; many complained that there were no show hours available in their city or that they could not see the most popular movies at all.
