ATLANTA – Billionaire Robert F. Smith, who received honorary doctorate on Morehouse College's Sunday dinner, had already announced $ 1.5 million gift to the school.
But during his remarks in front of the nearly 400 educated seniors, the billionaire technology investor and philanthropist surprised someone by announcing that his family was giving a grant to eliminate student debt for the whole class 2019
"This is my class," said he, "and I know my class will pay this forward."
The announcement evoked the greatest bowl of the morning.

The gift is estimated at $ 40 million.
Tonga's husband, Charles Releford III, is also a Morehouse candidate. He said their younger son, Colin, is a junior at Morehouse.
He does not know who the keynote speaker will be at Colin's degree ceremony, but hopes for a return performance by Smith.
"Maybe he'll be back next year."
