More than 10,000 customers without electricity across Central New York today today due to high winds that have brought down trees and wires, according to three utilities serving the region.
The number of customers without power midday rose by more than 6,000 since this morning, according to National Grid, New York State Electric and Gas and Rochester Gas and Electric.
Statewide, 59,035 were without power midday, down from 6,525 customers from this morning, according to the utilities.
