McDonald's adds GrubHub as its latest delivery partner

GrubHub is McDonald's latest delivery partner as the fast-food giant appears to be making a $ 4 billion business for the company this year.

Shares in the supplier jumped 4% in extended trading Thursday night. [19659003] McDonald's said Thursday that approximately 500 locations in New York City and tri-states will launch the delivery on GrubHub and its New York brand, Seamless. GrubHub owns 71

% of delivery sales in New York City, according to data from Technomic.

The Chicago-based company launched delivery in the United States in 2017 through an exclusive partnership with UberEats.

While the UberEats partnership made delivery available in New York and surrounding areas, and collaboration with GrubHub will provide McDonald's with access to customers who may choose to order via GrubHub or Seamless instead. Toast's Restaurant Success in the 2019 report found that consumers also tend to be loyal to a certain platform.

In July, McDonald & # 39; s exclusivity ended with UberEats as it began testing a collaboration with rival DoorDash. Last week, McDonald's said it would launch its DoorDash partnership nationwide and further expand its delivery footprint.

McDonald's shares were essentially flat in the afternoon trade.
