Martin Shkreli suspected of using a cell phone to run the company from prison

NEW YORK (AP) – The federal government said on Friday that they are investigating that Martin Shkreli has run his pharmaceutical company from the backbones with the help of a smuggler.

The US Bureau of Prisons told The Associated Press it has opened a request for whether the man who called "Pharma Bro" violated the prison rules prohibits inmates from conducting business and owned mobile phones.

Shkreli, 35, serves a seven-year security fraud statement at the Federal Correctional Institution at Fort Dix, New Jersey, a low-security prison complex about 65 kilometers from Philadelphia. He was found guilty of lying to investors in two failed hedge funds and cheating them out of millions.

Former Turing Pharmaceuticals CEO Martin Shkreli, seen in 2017, is suspected of running his pharmaceutical company, Phoenixus AG, from prison.

The Wall Street Journal reported this week that Shkreli has used a cell phone to call the shots of his drug company, Phoenixus AG, who regularly posts to social media and even fires the company's CEO a few weeks ago.

Shkreli's defense lawyer, Benjamin Brafman, refused to comment.

The Birth Agency said federal prisoners trapped in cellular possession up to a year after the bars if they were sentenced. Shkreli may also face disciplinary sanctions in the prison if he is in the business.

"Like all corrective agencies, BOP continues to deal with the problem of infection prevention being introduced into our facilities, including smuggling phones," the agency said in a statement to the AP. "BOP is continually reviewing and deploying appropriately, bandwidth detection technologies, including transparent metal detectors and whole body processing devices."

Shkreli had been charged with eight counts of security fraud, conspiracy to commit securities cheat and management scams, for his role in managing MSMB Capital Management and MSMB Healthcare between 2009 and 2014.

The case was not related to the 2015 furor he caused when he increased the price by more than 5,000 percent of a drug used to treat an infection that occurs [f callMethod?
