Major US airlines hit by technically wrong delays at airports, including Chicago, NYC, Boston, Atlanta, Miami and Detroit

A technical error on an external airline led to delays at major US airlines on Monday.

The problem has been solved, but it can cause disturbances in travel plans. There are delays early Monday in airports in Chicago, New York, Boston, Dallas, Atlanta, Miami, Detroit and Washington, DC

The Federal Aviation Administration said the technical issue hit several airlines and council travelers contacting airlines directly for flight information and updates. Airlines say travelers should check online for the latest flight updates.

American Airlines said the technical issue was related to AeroData, an airplane technology company. Failure hit some of their regional carriers.

Southwest Airlines raised an internal ground stay at. 07:05 East that had been implemented for about 40 minutes. The airline expects scattered delays.

Some regional airlines from United Airlines were hit by the problem, which led to delays for selected United Express aircraft, the company said. About 1[ads1]50 flights were affected, according to United.

"Some aircraft that were affected have gone, and we are working to get all affected flights back on schedule," United said.

Delta said that the outbreak prevented any of the Delta Connection planes from leaving on time. The airline does not expect flight information.

This story is evolving.
