Facebook on Friday announced that awarded CEO Mark Zuckerberg $ 20 million for security purposes – that's four times what he received for security in 2016.
Not all of the funds in Zuckerberg's security component ensemble are for security, the archiving said. About $ 2.6 million of $ 20 million was "for the personal use of private aircraft."
Facebook has a broad security operation known to track the location of certain users that the company has considered to be threats to Facebook and its leaders.
Zuckerberg's sharp increase in 2018 compensation came after the company navigated in a turbulent year of scandals, which began with the Cambridge Analytica scandal in March, where a political consultant received personal information from Facebook users in an unauthorized manner and used it to target political ads and end with the episode Definers Public Affairs in November, where Facebook was found to have used a company to write negative stories about competitors and plant them in the press.
