The Kmart store chain closes four additional stores in New Jersey and one in Pennsylvania.
"After careful review, we have made the difficult but necessary decision to close Kmart stores in Wayne, Trenton, Wall and Somers Point, NJ," said Larry Castello, Sears Holdings Public Relations Director. The stores will close by mid-December.
Kmart at 320 S. 25th St. in Easton is also scheduled to close at that time.
Liquidation sales are expected to begin in mid-September.

The company closed a Toms River store earlier this year. Other store closures along the Jersey Shore included Sears stores in Ocean Township, Toms River and Middletown, and Kmart in Brick.
"We encourage customers to continue shopping at Kmart .co m for all their product needs," Castello said in a statement.
