Jet Airways founder Naresh Goyal and wife stopped leaving India

– Indian carrier Jet Airways (India) Ltd founder Naresh Goyal and wife Anita Goyal were stopped from leaving India on Saturday in Mumbai airport, according to an airport official who asked not to be named.

The Par was taken into custody by immigration officers, reported Indian Express, referring to sources.

The airport official did not confirm that the couple had been arrested.

It was not immediately clear why the couple had been prevented from traveling, or whether it was related to reported regulatory probes in the airline.

It was not immediately possible to reach either Goyals or Jet for comment late Saturday.

Local media said Goyals had traveled to Dubai for a connection to London.

Local media, referring to sources, reported earlier this month that the Ministry of Business Affairs had looked at Jets books and had requested company surveys on the airline, suspension ecting that its promoters siphoned by funds.

Jet said when it had followed all the rules. The Goyals did not comment on the reports at that time.

Once, one of India's largest operators, Jet was forced to beat all the aircraft last month after running out of money and failing to secure funds, stifled by achieving losses as it attempted to compete with affordable rivals.

The carrier saddles with about $ 1.2 billion in bank debt, and Goyal and his wife retired from the airline's regime in March in the midst of the crisis.
