Marijuana edible enthusiasts are delighted: The creator of the Jelly Belly jelly bean has launched a line of sweets infused with cannabis-derived compound cannabidiol.

Candy inventor David Klein has concentrated CBD-infused jelly beans in 38 flavors ranging from toasted marshmallow to piƱa colada. Each bean contains 10 mg of CBD and can be ordered online.

Since Cannabis Aficionado created Jelly Belly prayers in 1976, Klein has continued to make sweets despite the sale of the iconic label in 1980. Klein told the publication he saw on CBD jelly beans after learning about his perceived benefits, to find a gap in a market that includes cannabis-infused gummies and chocolates.

His company, Spectrum Confections, sells CBD jelly beans in bulk. They come in three variants: original, sugar-free and acidic. Other flavors include cinnamon, spicy licorice, strawberry cheesecake and mango.

A patent is waiting for the recipe, reports Cannabis Aficionado. The confectioner sorts jelly beans with sugar – dextrose or maltetol – to mask the CBD flavor.

Company representatives discuss pricing after customers have created an account, according to the company's website, and at least 8,000 pieces must be ordered. The consumers must also send the CBD for their prayers and give the lab report, the website says.

Jelly beans are currently not in stock, but customers can fill out a contact form on the website.
