J.D. Power assesses mattress satisfaction

The fierce competition in the mattress industry has led to bankruptcies, zero-interest financing agreements, discounting, new technology and legal battles.
But in the midst of the chaos, people who bought a mattress in the last 12 months are growing happier.
JD Power Mattress Satisfaction Report of 2019, released Wednesday, found that overall satisfaction with mattresses rose eight points on a scale of 1000 points, compared to the previous year.
Consumers ranked their priorities, in order, such as comfort, price, support, durability, warranty, features and customer service. In each area, they were more satisfied in 2019, J.D. reported. Power, based on 1,847 answers.

Among shop mattresses, Tempur Sealy International's Tempur-Pedic mattress ranked first in customer satisfaction.
However, the company's Sealy brand was ranked last among seven included in the survey.

Among the so-called bed-in-a-box alternatives, where a mattress is temporarily compressed for delivery, the Purple mark was ranked first out of five. The brand called BedInABox ranked last.
