Instagram seems to be back online after an outbreak struck the social media platform for over an hour on Thursday afternoon.
Earlier, by checking it on the Instagram mobile app, a message occurred that could not update the feed while trying to use the desktop page, came up with a Facebook logo and a "Sorry, something went wrong" message .
Instagram did not immediately respond to a request for comment on how long it was down, what caused the interruption and whether it was global.
Down Detector recorded more than 38,000 reports from 3:00 pm PT, which jumped to nearly 57,000 reports from 9:00 pm on. 3:40. It was reported globally across North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
Instagram finally confirmed the outbreak via Twitter at. 15.44 PT and said it was working to fix the problem.
