Thousands of Instagram users reported problems accessing the platform on Monday morning.
About 7,000 users reported the app was down around 10:15 a.m. ET, according to outage tracking website Down Detector. After approx. 45 minutes, however, the number of reports had fallen noticeably.
Instagram said in a tweet Monday that it had solved the problem.
“We have now fixed this bug – it caused people in various parts of the world to have trouble accessing their accounts and caused a temporary change in their follower count for some,” the company tweeted. “Pardon!”
Additional information about the cause of the outage was not immediately available.
