Hurricane Dorian was a Category 5 storm Sunday morning when it closed in the Bahamas, leading to several changes in the cruise line as important Florida ports are now closed.
Carnival Horizon added to the quay on Saturday night to allow guests on board the opportunity to disembark, with the requirement that it leave again on Saturday.
Carnival's request to remain anchored in port through Sunday afternoon was rejected.

Disney Dream's September 2 sail is now a two-night sail with an expected departure from Port Canaveral on Wednesday, September 4, and an expected return to Port Canaveral on Friday, September 6.
At this time, we expect Disney Dream to visit Disney Castaway Cay on Thursday, September 5, depending on whether it is affected by Hurricane Dorian.
Guests who choose to continue with this voyage will receive a 50% refund of the voyage and a credit on board of $ 250 per room.
Guests who do not want to sail on Wednesday should call Disney at 866-325-3905 or 407-566-7032 by Sunday, September 1. The guests will then have until 31 October 2019 to choose a new sailing date. MSC announced that Armonia will now depart on September 4 as opposed to September 2 and sail a five-day cruise, with calls to Cozumel and Costa Maya.

Norwegian Breakaway's seven-day Caribbean cruise is being modified which was set to depart on September 1st.
She will no longer call Roatan, Honduras; Harvest Caye, Belize; nor does Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico. Instead, she will sail a modified four-day itinerary, which will include a sailing date on Wednesday, September 4, pending approval from authorities and local port authorities. If confirmed, she will spend a day at sea September 5, call Cozumel, Mexico September 6, and remain at sea September 7 before returning to Miami, Florida September 8, as scheduled.
