(Reuters) ̵[ads1]1; The US Department of Housing and Urban Development on Thursday reported Facebook Inc to violate the Fair The Housing Act by encouraging, enabling and causing housing discrimination in advertising on the platforms.

Facebook said last week that it would create a new advertising portal for housing and employment ads that would limit advertiser targeting options.

Facebook did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
