HTC's new Exodus 1 phone is a Bitcoin Full Node
Bitcoin (BTC) network support can soon be as easy as turning on the phone. HTC has revealed technical specifications for the new Exodus 1 phone, which includes advanced blocking features. In addition to built-in key storage and wallets, the new device will include a new first in mobile phones: a full Bitcoin node, allowing users to interact with the largest blocking network directly from the pockets.
In a press release issued today, HTC described the new device as part of a movement to protect highlighting that full-nudity capabilities would allow users to rely on trustworthy interaction with the Bitcoin network without delaying their privacy for others parties.
Full nodes are used to broadcast and verify transactions, thus ensuring that no coin can be used twice, and no user can be prevented from making a transaction. Although they do not make my blocks, they play an important role in ensuring that blocking remains secure and accessible to everyone.
Phil Chen, serving HTC with the unusual title Decentralized Chief Officer, described the new entity as part of the company's mission to "strengthen the user."
"We democratize access to the technology of a free world" said Chen. "Full nodes are the most important ingredient in the Bitcoin network, and we have lowered the entry barrier for any person to run a node."
The phone also comes with a built-in hardware wallet, known as Zion Vault. First introduced with Exodus 1 earlier this year, the Zion Vault stores the cryptocurrency keys in a reliable execution environment, allowing users to easily own and use cryptocurrencies without exposing them to malicious applications.
The Exodus 1s will take the vault a step further and release a software development kit (SDK for Zion Vault.) The new toolbox will allow developers to explore integrated crypto inverters and the third-party smartphone. "We understand that it takes a community to secure strength and security." HTC said in the announcement "so it is important for the EXODUS team that our society has the best tools available to them."
HTC is just the newest provider seeking to integrate mobile technology with blocks and encryption. The Crypto Briefing has already reported on the Pundi X's XPhone and Samsung S10.
