Holyoke Mall shooting, suspect in custody

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – The Hampden County District Attorney’s office has confirmed that a shooting took place at the Holyoke Mall on Saturday night.
According to Mayor Joshua Garcia, Holyoke Police and State Police have responded and are continuing to investigate the incident.
In a post on his Facebook page, Garcia assured that the mall is now secure and that the suspect is in custody. He added that one person is injured in the shooting.
Garcia’s full statement reads:
The Holyoke Police Department has responded to the Holyoke Mall for a report of a shooting. At the moment, the shooter is in custody and one person is injured. The area is secured, and the state̵[ads1]7;s investigative unit is also responding. This is an open investigation. We’ll be sure to share more.
