LOS ANGELES – Disney director Bob Iger on Thursday urged US politicians to rejecting hatred during the 2020 election – claiming that Adolf Hitler would have "loved social media" as a tool for spreading extremist propaganda.

"Hate and anger draws us toward an abyss," he said at a dinner organized by Simon Wiesenthal Center, a Jewish human rights organization. "Our policy, in particular, is now dominated by contempt."

"Hitler would have loved social media," he added. "It's the most powerful marketing tool an extremist could ever hope for."

"In the worst case, social media allows the evil to be exchanged for troubled minds and lost souls," he said.

With a tough campaign for 2020 US presidential elections awaited in the coming months, Iger emphasized that it is "possible to argue politics without attacking people."

"I want to hear a pitch that is not grounded in contempt for others," he said. 1[ads1]9659003] "I want to see a vision big enough to include everyone."
