Many businesses are closed on Christmas Day, but some keep their doors open, even if only for limited hours, to accommodate anyone who needs a last minute grocery or wants to eat out during the holiday.
Many big box stores such as Costco, Walmart, Best Buy, Lowe’s, Home Depot and Target were open for last minute shopping on Christmas Eve but are closed for the holiday.
There are few options for those who need to get hold of some last minute ingredients for Christmas dinner, although some grocery chains will have some stores open.
- ACME: Some of the 1[ads1]61 Acme stores in the Northeast will be open, but customers are encouraged to call their local Acme before heading out.
- Vons, Pavilions: Some Vons and Pavilions stores will be open until 15.00, but customers are also encouraged to check local opening times.
- Ralph’s: Some Ralphs locations will stay open until 17.00
- Safeway: Some Safeway stores will stay open until 19.00
Pharmacies that will remain at least somewhat open include:
- Walgreens: Most Walgreens stores will have reduced hours, but the 24-hour Walgreens will remain open, according to USA Today.
- CVS: Many shops will have reduced Christmas hours, with opening hours that vary by location.
- RiteAid: RiteAid stores are usually open, but hours will vary based on location.
For anyone looking to grab a cup of Christmas coffee, many Starbucks and Dunkin’ Donuts locations will be open, but hours may vary.
