HBO users should now switch to an HBO billed plan if they want HBO Max
If you are an HBO Now customer who has Looking at HBO Max, you may want to make sure you pay HBO directly for the service now, and if you don't, consider transferring your account to a direct HBO billed service now.
This week, HBO announced that it will allow existing HBO Now customers to switch to the service for free. That said, it will not be able to transfer people who subscribe to the service through a third party like Hulu at launch. This means that if you want to use HBO Max in May and you subscribe to a third part, you must cancel your account and start a new one where you pay HBO directly in May.
For some perspective, HBO Max is expected to cost $ 14.99 per month, the same price as HBO Now, so they don't offer you a deal just an easy way to switch.
Right now, most of the big series are pausing, so cutting ties with third parties and moving to something new will be relatively easy.
Come May, you could potentially be halfway into watching something just to start over with a new account and find out which episode you're on. [19659004] There is certainly no question of closing days, but it will be annoying, potentially very annoying if you look at a handful of things on the platform .
HBO Max doesn't launch until May, so you have a while to find out. However, if you are not binging something on HBO at the moment, you may want to go ahead and switch now and save yourself the headache later.
And if you pay for HBO through AT&T, you get HBO Max for free, so if you are enrolled there, you should stay the course. If you are not and are trying to decide between AT&T and another service, you may want to consider the discount before making the choice.
