Google is targeting a new antitrust probe by state attorneys general
More than half of United States Attorney General's are prepared to announce a new probe into Google of possible antitrust violations in a huge escalation against Big Tech.
According to The Washington Post, the investigation is expected to be announced in September. 9 at a press conference in Washington, but it is not clear whether any of the officials will also open or announce plans for probes in other technology companies, such as Amazon and Facebook.
It has been a difficult year for the Silicon Valley carriers, which have been increasingly investigated for their practices around data collection, content politicization and their gathering of political and economic power.

Several 2020 presidential candidates, most notable Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., Have asked Big Tech giants to be broken up for alleged competitive behavior.
In addition, new legislation in the Senate called the "Monopolization Deterrence Act" would impose crippling fines on tech giants – which stretch as high as 15 percent of the firm's total US revenue – if found to be in violation of antitrust law.
