Google backs up after short downtime – Down detector

Aug 8 (Reuters) – Alphabet Inc’s ( GOOGL.O ) Google services appeared to be back after facing a brief global disruption late on Monday, according to outage tracking website

Reports of the outage fell to fewer than 500 incidents in the United States, according to Downdetector, which compiles status reports from a variety of sources.

At the peak of the outage, more than 30,000 user reports had indicated problems with Google in the US alone, as of 0130 GMT.

Nearly 5,900 users reported problems in Japan, the tracking website said, adding that the disruption was also seen in Canada and Australia.

Google did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment.
