Get red cups with festive drinks on Thursday

Set your alarms. Starbucks’ long-awaited Red Cup Day is Thursday.
The coffee chain is giving away free reusable red cups in limited editions to customers who order a handmade holiday or autumn drink in participating American stores on Thursday. The free part is available as long as the stock lasts.
Holiday drinks, which include Peppermint Mocha and Chestnut Praline Latte, returned to Starbucks on November 4 and were joined by the new Sugar Cookie Almondmilk Latte. In recent years, the free reusable cup distribution was held on the first day of the holiday menu.
This year̵[ads1]7;s reusable cup is made with 50% recycled content to honor the chain’s 50th anniversary, Starbucks said. It has a classic holiday red with playful swirls of sparkling ribbons that dance against a starry sky.

Save money on Starbucks with a free cup
In the early days of the pandemic, Starbucks temporarily restricted personal mugs. In June, after 15 months, the chain reintroduced mugs and brought back the discount of 10 cents reusable cups to “encourage customers to choose reusable and reduce disposable cups of cups”.
Free cups from Thursday’s giveaway are eligible for the discount.
The return of personal mugs in June came with changes, and Starbucks says they are “testing safe alternatives to allow personal reusable cups in drive-thru, but so far personal reusable cups are only accepted in stores.”
