Germany has apparently avoided a technical recession since it recorded flat growth in the fourth quarter, arguing concerns that Europe's largest economy is continuing to decline.
"After a dynamic start in the first half of the year (+0.4 per cent in the first quarter, +0.5 per cent in the second quarter), a small dike pp (-0.2 per cent in the third quarter, 0.0 per cent in the fourth quarter) registered in the second half. For the whole of 2018, this was an increase of 1.4 per cent, Destatis said.
