General Motors confirms that an electric pickup is coming

General Motors has confirmed plans to introduce an electric pickup in the coming years, but is not ready to reveal all the details yet.

The news comes from GM's CEO Mary Barra, who said during the automaker's first-quarter earnings call only that a full-size pickup was part of the complete range of electric vehicles the company is developing.

ELECTRIC FORD F-150 SHOCKING SECRET REVEALED:

When it goes on sale, the truck will probably have to compete with the previously announced electric Ford F-150 and a Tesla pickup. Ram has not yet revealed any fixed intentions to building an all-electric model, while Ford-backed Rivian is scheduled to have a battery-powered medium-sized truck in production by the end of 2020.

THE RIVER R1[ads1]T IS THE ELECTRIC PICKUP OF THE NEAREST future:

GM has already built an electric pickup, even though it used a fuel cell to generate electricity rather than a large battery pack. The Colorado ZH2 was designed with military applications in mind and has been tested by the US Army but nothing like it has yet entered into production. A Silverado Heavy Duty-based version with a high performance on the road is also suggested.
