JACKSON, Tenn. – Fred announced on Friday that the company will close 129 more stores, including several in West Tennessee.
The local stores included in the last round of closures are those in Alamo, Henderson, McKenzie, Parsons and Trenton, according to a press release.
Fred will also have stock alerts at all stores "in an attempt to refocus the product mix, simplify the store portfolio and pay back debts, the release says.
The company may later consider launching some closed stores under a new operating model, according to the release.
After these closures, the company will have about 80 stores left.
