Ford plans to cut thousands of paid jobs
Ford Motor Co. plans to cut thousands of salaried employees as it appears to be cutting costs to position the company for a long-range transition to electric vehicles, according to people familiar with the matter.
The carmaker in the coming weeks is expected to reveal plans to eliminate more than 4,000 jobs, the people said. The cuts will mostly come from the Dearborn, Mich. -Based carmaker’s North American paid ranks and are not expected to include factory workers, the people said.
