Fiat Chrysler remembers over 300,000 cars due to danger of rolling

DETROIT (AP) – Fiat Chrysler remembers more than 300,000 cars in North America because a transmission problem can cause them to roll away unexpectedly.

The recall covers Dodge Dart compact cars from 2013 to 2016 with six-speed automatic transmissions.

The company says that a bushing can fail and causes the shifter cable to come loose from the transfer. This means that when a driver changes to park or other equipment, the equipment cannot be changed and the car can roll away.

Fiat Chrysler says it doesn't know about any related crashes or injuries. However, it is recommended that the owners turn off the engine and set the parking brake before leaving the cars.

Dealers replace bushing at no cost to owners. The recall is expected to start on 31[ads1] May.
