FDA investigates strawberry hepatitis outbreak – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth




The Food and Drug Administration announced on Saturday that fresh Kampo or HEB organic strawberries should be discarded if purchased from March 5 to April 25, 2022.

The FDA said in a statement that the strawberries purchased during that time period may be linked to an outbreak of hepatitis. So far, 17 people have become ill and 12 have been hospitalized.

At the moment, the affected products are over shelf life. The FDA said that some frozen strawberries for later consumption should not be eaten.

The products were sold in the following places:
