Eye drops sold at Walmart, Walgreens are recalled; The products may not be sterile – CBS Baltimore
BALTIMORE (WJZ) – A number of eye drops and ophthalmic ointments sold at Walgreens and Walmart stores are recalled over concerns that they may not be sterile.
The products, manufactured by Altaire Pharmaceuticals, were sold under Equate, Support Harmony and Walgreens brands from 2017 to 2019.
The Food and Drug Administration said that the use of a non-sterile product intended to be sterile may cause serious and potentially life-threatening injuries or death.
To date, no injuries or deaths have been reported.
