Employee so woman tries to drown newborn; Judge gives his sampling
REDWOOD CITY, CA (Gray News) – Sarah Jane Lockner will spend the next four years on probation but will not go to jail.
The 27-year-old Redwood City woman was accused of trying to drown her newborn son in a McDonald's toilet back in September 2017, just moments after birth.
Originally, the accusers accused Lockner of attempting murder, but the terms of her prosecution agreement removed that responsibility from the case, San Francisco Chronicle reported.
She did not report any competition for the child's peril in January. Judge Stephanie Garratt handed over one year's imprisonment on Friday, but she gets the credit for the time that is already used behind bars.
Employees knew something was wrong when she continued to run in the toilet on the day of the alleged incident. Lockner had complained about abdominal pain during the shift.
At one time, a colleague went to check on her well-being and saw blood on the floor, which Lockner rejected as a result of a heavy period.
Yet, when another colleague went to look at her, she looked over the stable and said that Lockner kept the newborn face in the toilet, The Mercury News reported.
The persecutors said that Lockner asked his colleague not to call the police, but she did anyway.
Responding officers did not find the boy breathing and without pulse. He survived the trial and lived with his father's aunt.
The authorities said this was Lockner's other child. She had born another child at home five years earlier.
She didn't know she was pregnant in either case.
