Elon Musk has been talking about building a Tesla pickup since late 2017, when he showed a mock-up of a new cab-type pickup that is apparently based on the Tesla Semi Truck, and, at least in the rendering we continues to see, is able to carry a conventional full-size pickup truck in its bed. Just a few days ago, Elon tweeted that the truck is likely to be shown in November.
So, how likely is this? Eeeeeeeh if your plan was, come November, so as not to fill your lungs with air before Tesla officially shows their pickup, I guess you will end up dead, or at least go out. If that happens, great, there's already an interesting electric pickup competition out there. I hope it's not actually based on Tesla Semi, because it would just be too damn big.
Do people really want to get full size pickups in their beds like in that picture? If so, how the hell are you going to get it in there? A crane? And if it's a full-size pickup, this thing will be way too big to park.
I like the cabover section, I hope it's just a reasonable size. If it shows up at all, I mean.
I reached out to Tesla for comment; I will update when / if I hear back.
