Elon Musks & Teslaquila & # 39; returns from Mexican tequila regulators
A Teslaquila, Two Teslaquila, Three Teslaquila, Floor
It turns out that you need more than a catchy brand name to distill tequila.
One of Tesla founders Elon Musk's latest projects, known as "Teslaquila", are facing presses from Mexico's Tequila Regulatory Council (CRT), Reuters reported on Wednesday.
CRT said in a statement to Reuters that the mark "Teslaquila" evokes the word "tequila" and "tequila" is a protected word.
"If it would make Teslaquila viable as a tequila, it had to be linked to an authorized tequila producer, comply with certain standards and claim approval from the Mexican Industrial Property Institute," said CRT in the statement
The term "Teslaquila" was first mentioned as an April Fool's joke on Musks' T Witter .

But last month, Tesla filed an aplication for the brand name "Teslaquila" relative to a "distilled agave fluid". Reuters found similar applications filed in Mexico, the EU and Jamaica.
Elon was found past a Tesla Model 3, surrounded by "Teslaquilla" bottles, the trail of dried tears still visible on the cheeks.
This is not a forward-looking statement, of course, what's the point?

Trademark is a "Purpose to Use" trademark, which means that the product does not exist yet, but Tesla plans to use it in the future, according to a CNBC report.
Musk tweeted October 12th "Teslaquila Comes Soon …" and shortly after offered a " visual approach " of the product: a bottle of a red label with Tesla- the emblem and the words "Teslaquila 100 percent puro de agave."
The objections that CRT experiences may be a problem for Musk.

CRT officials claim that if "Teslaquila" is not linked to a tequila producer, it could be misleading to consumers who buy it and think it's tequila. Tequila is closely regulated and must follow strict guidelines.
