Elon Musk challenges billionaires, poles funding groups attacking his Twitter purchases
Tesla CEO Elon Musk seemed to increase the pressure on several left-wing groups backed by teachers’ unions and George Soros who signed a letter urging Twitter’s top advertisers to boycott the social media platform if Musk follows his plans to facilitate freedom of expression.
In response to a Daily Mail article reporting on the groups behind the anti-Musk campaign, Musk questioned whether those who funded the organizations were “fully aware of what the organizations are doing.”[ads1];
Twenty-six groups, including Media Matters for America and UltraViolet, signed an open letter urging marketers to ensure that their advertising agreements with Twitter are conditional on maintaining previous content moderation guidelines regarding hateful behavior.

“As a top advertiser on Twitter, your brand risks association with a platform that reinforces hatred, extremism, misinformation about health and conspiracy theorists,” the letter said.
Musk requested an investigation into the group after the letter was published on Tuesday.
“Who is funding these organizations that want to control your access to information? Let’s investigate,” Musk tweeted. “Sunlight is the best disinfectant,” he said added on Twitter.
